Little Gasparilla Island, “LGI,” is a small, tropical, bridgeless barrier island located on the southwest coast of Florida, close to Placida (about 60 60-minute drive south of Sarasota). It harks back to the old Florida days, with miles of white, peaceful beaches, beautiful sunsets, amazing beach walks, and a warm calm ocean without any of the maddening crowds.

There is no bridge, no roads, and no cars on the island, so access to the island is strictly via a 10-minute boat ride or a small complimentary passenger ferry ride only for Placida Condo homeowners and their guests. There are no shops, stores, or businesses of any kind on the island. You’ll bring your own groceries for simple beach picnics or gourmet meals on the lanai.

While there are shops, golf courses, restaurants, etc close and accessible on the mainland, LGI is a place you come to relax and rejuvenate your spirit and soul away from the hustle and bustle of the “real world.”
