Frequently asked questions.
Is Little Gasparilla Island truly bridgeless? Sounds blissful! How do I get there and how do I get around the island?
Yes, there are no bridges to LGI and no roads on the island. You'll get to our condos via a soothing complimentary 10-minute ferry ride from the mainland. The ferry is private for our condo complex only, a people ferry only (no cars), and runs either hourly or every other hour (based on the season) on-demand. *Occasional weather may impact ferry service. A lovely boardwalk will take you directly to our bayfront condo, or it's just a short minute-long walk over to the beachside condo. You can get around the island on foot on the beach or the meandering sandy paths inland. Note: while you will see golf carts on the island, our condo complex does not allow guests to use golf carts on the property. However, we can put you in touch with the "island taxi" if you'd like to schedule a little golf cart tour or a contact for a day cart rental to explore a little further.
Where is Little Gasparilla Island and how do I get there?
Obviously you can drive or fly depending on how far you are. LGI is located in the Gulf of Mexico off the Southwest Coast of Florida. We are about an hour north of Fort Myers, or an hour south of Sarasota. You can fly into either of those airports, or Punta Gorda Airport is quite close, and Tampa is about an hour and a half away. Many major airlines offer direct flights to these major airports.
If you don’t plan to rent a car, or use Uber, we can put you in touch with a private car service that will pick you up from the airport and drop you at the ferry.
If I am driving my own car or renting a car, is there somewhere to park and is my car secure on the mainland?
Yes, our condo complex has complimentary, private parking on the mainland secured by a guarded gate system. We will simply add you to our gate list during your stay. To enter the gate you will scan your driver's license to be let in.
Are there any grocery stores, restaurants, or bars on the island?
No, there is no real commerce on the island at all. You'll bring your own groceries to whip up simple beach picnics or gourmet meals on the balcony. There are a number of Grocery stores, Restaurants, Golf Courses, and other activities 10 minutes away on the mainland, accessible via the complimentary ferry. Once on the mainland, the nearest Publix grocery store and liquor and pizza joint is a 2 min drive from mainland parking or a 15 min easy walk.
You'll likely transform into a skilled tropical mixologist while here. We can also connect you with a private chef to prepare some meals for you, give you the inside scoop for clay oven pizza delivery on the island, a delivery of fresh key lime pie, or a hookup for some super fresh stone crab or other local fresh seafood of choice.
What should I pack?
Less is more on the island… Bring the basics and enjoy the simplicity!
Flip flops (we provide hotel slippers to wear in the house and take home with you)
Favorite toiletries (we provide mini hotel shampoo, conditioner, body wash and face wash, and have a back stock of other necessities if you forget something)
Two swimsuits so you always have a dry one to put on
Beach coverup
Sun hat
Sunblock and bug spray (we have back stock in case you run out)
Cozy loungewear to throw on after a day at the beach
Are your condos a good fit for me?
If you prefer reading, napping and lounging on the beach over partying, and just generally want to take it slow and be present, we’re likely a great fit for you.
Whether its a romantic getaway, perhaps a vacation with your best friends, a girls reunion, a break with your family or parents, a golfing week with your mates, a personal retreat or maybe a long term stay away from winter up north, we have many different visitors. What all our guests have in common is an appreciation for the beauty, peace and quiet of the island without sacrificing their comfort and luxury. Whether it’s the comfortable King beds, the high end amenities, or easy island ferry access, what all our repeat guests have in common is a respect for the Island and its residents and nature.
Several of our neighbors are full time island residents so we appreciate you respecting their quiet time.
Can I stay at your condos if I have any smokers or pets with my group?
No, I’m sorry, our condo complex does not allow guests to stay with pets as a policy, and in order to keep our properties as pristine as possible, we cannot accommodate smokers with your group.
